The inspiration for my current art style is firmly rooted in nature, I use acrylic, 2K acrylic and guilding of various metals on canvas.
I’ve always struggled with low level anxiety, who hasn’t in this day and age? The hectic, breakneck speed which is life isn’t humanities natural habitat.
With 3 children and a love of canines, I naturally gravitated towards the outside world. After a while, I found the daily dog walk, calming in nature. Bad moods would be lifted and the feeling of anxiety would leave.
I’d find myself lost in a
world of my own, staring at how sunlight streaming through the ever changing branches cast mottled sunlight on the forest floor. I’d try to focus on something unseen through the beautiful swaying tree trunks, but the constantly moving and changing nature of my surrounding making it impossible to do.
I loved how my surrounding changed each season, colour, tread, wildlife ebbing and flowing like a calming force on the world around me.
As my artwork developed, I really loved the results. It made me start thinking whether it would be possible to pull other landscapes into the same style. Cityscape and nightlife colours painted in the same way I’d managed to portray nature.
I’m proud to exhibit the results on this website and I hope you find my artwork as calming and beautiful as I do.
